A Day on the Water!

Bonjourno!

It's so weird to spent an etire day doing things and then look at the clock on my laptop and see people are still at work!?!  PS -- my heart goes out to you my working friends.  I recommend vacation!  :)

Slept hard for a while last night and then woke up.  I was worried I might not get back to sleep, but was soon out like a light again!  Probably fell asleep too hard.

Our host prepared a lovely breakfast -- and that was waiting when we got up!

My happy honey!

Breakfast

The kitchen is too cute not to post a few pics of...

There is a young German couple that has been staying here as well and we all had breakfast together.

From there it was off to the water!  We spent a good part of the day on the water and it was a great way to see a city built -- on the water.  :)

Can I take an unrealted moment to say I've heard more Justin Beaber in 2 days then I've heard in the past 10 years.  The Venicians seem to be up on their American R&B artists.  Nick noticed that the tabacco shop we stopped in (much like our gas stations with snicky snacks and this and thats, but definately focused on tobacco) to buy boat tickets today had a picture of the owner and Blake Shelton... did not expect that!  Not that Blake Shelton is R&B by any stretch... but anywho!

Also -- I had grapefruit gilato today!  I LOVE grapefruit! Love it.  The gilato was excellente!

Some scenes from the water...

You have to click closer on this one -- but the image on the front of the building is a skull.  I wonder if when they built this in 1734 all the neighbors talked bad about them and complained it was going to bring the property value down? ;)

Love the soot on these buildings.  While there may be soot on the front of the buildings -- you've never seen cleaner windows.

The Rialto bridge -- at the center of the Grande Canal.  Very beautiful and covered with people.

Another beautiful building.  They just don't make 'em like they used to.  :)

It's us!

St. Marks Square -- a very busy place!  The church is covered in mosaics.  I can't imagine the number of 1/2" x 1/2" titles cover that building.

This appears to be a painting -- but once you look closely you realize it is thousands and thousands of tiles.

Nick's coffee shot!  It's an espresso cup tho!  We're going to have to go to Mc Donalds and see if we can get an American size coffee cup! :)

Look at that view!

Love to all -- see you tomorrow!  :)
